Biography

TRANSWESTERN ROLE

Carleton serves as President of Transwestern Development Company and is based in Houston. He is responsible for day-to-day management of the company and works with the regional development officers on business development and project execution.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

During his career, Carleton has participated in the development of in excess of 9 million square feet of office, industrial, multifamily and hospitality space, with more than $3.0 billion in aggregate cost. During his tenure with Transwestern, the group has completed a broad spectrum of principal and fee development projects including corporate office campuses, multi-phased bulk industrial, urban multi-family and healthcare facilities. Recent and current endeavors include the 600,000-sq ft, 30-story BHP Billiton Tower; The Arnold, a mixed-use complex with 346 residential units and 105,000 sq ft of commercial space; Ridgeport, a 1000+-acre, multi-phased intermodal industrial park; and Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands medical campus.
 
Prior to joining Transwestern, he was a development partner with The Morgan Group, where he oversaw a $300 million multi-family development pipeline. Carleton was a development manager for Hines from 1998 to 2005 with involvement in all areas of the investment and development process. Prior to Hines, Carleton served as acquisitions manager for The Archon Group.

EDUCATION

Carleton received a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin and a Masters of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.
