SAN JOSE, CALIF. – Transwestern today announces Ed Mendence, SIOR, CCIM, has joined Transwestern’s Northern California team as senior vice president and director for industrial and research and development properties. Based in the firm’s San Jose office, the 30-year veteran will provide consulting and brokerage services for corporations and institutional owners and work with Transwestern’s management team to grow the firm’s regional industrial practice.
“We have aggressive goals to significantly increase the firm’s Northern California presence in the industrial and logistics sector,” said Transwestern’s Edward F. Del Beccaro, managing director of the East Bay and Silicon Valley offices. “Mendence will add exceptional value to our team and clients.”
Mendence has closed more than 14 million square feet of industrial transactions in Silicon Valley alone, as well as many national and international transactions. Over the prior decade Mendence has facilitated the evolution of Silicon Valley toward urban smart growth planning, jobs/housing balancing measures and transit-oriented mixed-use redevelopments. He also developed valuable expertise through government interactions, land planning and successful entitlements of industrial land use conversions to smart growth and transit-oriented live/work developments.
“I am honored to join an organization that has been nationally recognized for its unique culture,” said Mendence. “I am excited to bring my passion for the Silicon Valley to a company that clearly shows its dedication to its community.”
Prior to joining Transwestern, Mendence served as managing partner at Sperry Van Ness – SV Advisors. An active member in the community, he has served for years as an Executive Committee member of the San Jose Mayor’s Gang Prevention Task Force and Faith Collaboration Initiative.
