ATLANTA – Transwestern Regional Operating Officer Kristine Maggio has joined the Board of Directors of Mary Hall Freedom Village, a 28-year-old nonprofit dedicated to empowering women, children, veterans, and families in metro Atlanta to end the cycle of homelessness, addiction and poverty. Maggio brings over 15 years of marketing, operations and team management experience and a passion for community service to advance awareness, fundraising and communications strategies for the organization.

“Kristine’s dedication to helping us fulfill our mission has been a blessing over the past 10 years,” said Lucy Hall, Mary Hall Freedom Village Founder and CEO. “Adding her energy, ideas and wealth of experience to our board makes us stronger and better equipped to continue providing treatment services, supportive housing, career development and family and children services in an enriching and therapeutic environment.”

As Transwestern Regional Operating Officer, Kristine oversees operations, team management, and administrative and marketing processes that drive performance, and oversees all regional philanthropic efforts. She collaborates with stakeholders across the country to foster a synergistic, supportive workplace that drives high team member retention, recruiting and overall team culture. As a key team member of Transwestern’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Steering Committee, she manages the company’s national DEI framework and overarching goals.

“Mary Hall Freedom Village provides critical services, support and resources for women and children who might otherwise be left behind,” said Maggio. “I feel fortunate to have this opportunity to expand my commitment to this vulnerable community and help drive positive outcomes for more families and the organization as a whole.”

Kristine is actively engaged with groups in the Atlanta community that serve the needs of a diverse and underprivileged sector of the population. She began volunteering with Mary Hall Freedom Village in 2014, providing marketing and communications leadership and mentorship to uplift women, advance initiatives and exceed fundraising goals. She also serves as Transwestern’s local leader for its partnership with Make-A-Wish® Georgia and supports Feed the Homeless and other civic organizations.

Mary Hall Freedom Village, founded in June 1996, addresses the need for residential substance treatment services for women in metro Atlanta. In 1998, we began providing housing to homeless women, children, veterans, and families. Since its humble beginnings of one apartment and two women, Mary Hall Freedom Village currently provides housing and services to over 250 women and over 80 children on any given day, restoring over 1,000 lives annually, and has served over 18,000 women since 1996. Our organization began with a focus on recovery, but has since grown into a well-respected, highly recognized program that focuses on freeing women and children from the cycle of homelessness, poverty, mental illness, and addiction. With over 30 services offered such as career development, childcare, reunification, veteran housing & employment, and behavioral health & wellness services, women are provided the tools and resources to recover.
