CHICAGO – Transwestern Real Estate Services (TRS) announces the addition of Employee Relations Business Partner Kali Funk. Based in Chicago, Funk is responsible for supporting the growth and success of Transwestern’s team members. As part of the Human Resources team, Funk drives holistic wellness and professional development, empowering both individuals and teams to achieve peak performance through the strategic implementation of diverse programs and initiatives.
“Having recently launched its boldest transformation in the firm’s history, Transwestern is continually asking how we can best support and foster our most important resource, which is our people,” said Allison Allen, Transwestern’s Chief Human Resources Officer. “Kali’s experience, coupled with her educational background, will help us ensure our team members are given the tools they need to succeed.”
Before joining Transwestern, Funk served as a Human Resources Business Partner at Welcome Tech, where she managed the human resources efforts for the social impact, high-growth, venture-backed fintech company. In that role, she led initiatives to double the company’s headcount, created programs to promote employee wellness and engagement, and developed curriculum workshops for performance enhancement.
Prior to pursuing a career in human resources, Funk opened a private practice as a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, where she partnered with elite athletes and individuals. She specialized in cognitive behavioral techniques, emotional regulation, mental toughness training and solution-focused interventions. Funk also served in roles at Lighthouse Property Insurance Corporation and Gilstrap and Associates.

Funk holds a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in hospitality management from Florida State University and a master’s in clinical mental health and counselor education from the University of Central Florida. Additionally, she is a National and Board-Certified Counselor with a License in Mental Health Counseling.
